  Island Batik Ambassador 2025 Recap

  As we wrap up 2025, I wanted to take a look back at all the projects I completed as an Island Batik Ambassador. It has been an amazing year! Many thanks to the wonderful team at Lumin Fabrics for facilitating this program and for providing all those gorgeous fabrics! In addition to the fabric, Ambassadors were provided notions and supplies from Industry Sponsors - Hobbs Batting, Aurifil Thread, Schmetz Needles, ByAnnie, Funky Friends Factory, Deb Tucker's Studio 180 Design, Oliso, and Accuquilt.   Floating Lanterns - New Pattern Release

  I'm excited to announce the release of my latest quilt pattern, Floating Lanterns. The sample quilt was made using the Woodland Warmth fabric collection from Island Batik by Lumin Fabrics. Floating Lanterns is my first published quilt as it appears in the Winter 2025 Island Batik Catalog! Floating Lanterns is the perfect pattern to show off those fabric strips! The large block size makes this quilt come together quickly and is a great pattern for beginners. The finished size is 61" X 73". To make it larger, you could add a border or just increase the number of columns.

  Island Batik Its All Up to You December Challenge - Gemstones Quilt

  For December, the Ambassadors could make anything we wanted! Any size, any theme, any technique. For inspiration, I opened my fabric closet and pulled out the remaining fabric received in my Ambassador Boxes this year that I hadn't used. My eyes lit on the beautiful stack from the Under the Sea collection. Since I had 10" fabric squares to work with, I considered a few different designs that would show off this beautiful fabric. I settled on Square-in-a-Square blocks using Quarter Square Triangles for the center.
