I love using pre-cuts! The convenience can't be beat and having specifically cut pieces of an entire fabric line at your fingertips is inspiring! That's why when I saw Kate Spain's fabric line Sunflowers in my Heart, I knew I would use it in my next pattern and quilt! I love the colors in this line and well...sunflowers! The result is Pinstriped, my newest pattern release.
I designed this pattern so it can be used with either a strip pack or a layer cake. I used a layer cake in the sample quilt, cutting each 10" square into four sections and inserting a narrow stripe (pinstripe!) in an accent color. The outer border is optional, but I think it really helps set off the narrower inner border that surrounds the blocks. Pinstriped finishes to 64" X 73.5", making it the perfect throw quilt size and a manageable size to quilt with a domestic sewing machine.
